I chose my fiction story for my portfolio because I think it’s the best piece I ever wrote. Fiction writers have to ask what books do I want to exist in the world and this question leads to inventing a character with traits, struggles, and actions. I also wrote about an issue that is important to me and then created a character with that issue. Also, as a fiction writer I have to know the characters motivations and their struggles. I know because I had to create the characters internal and external traits. To start a fiction story I used a story map to outline my story. The first thing I did was start with a character and a setting, then, I let the reader clearly know what the character wants, and what obstacles stand in their way. I remembered include dialog that allows the reader to see what the characters are doing and I wrote events with small moment after small moment so it leads to the climax or the middle of the piece. I resolve the story so there are no loose ends. Parts of my writing I did very well. The first thing is I used plenty of dialogs. I usually like to talk a lot so I put a lot of conversations in this piece. The second thing is that I personally created the characters. I basically took one of my issues at home and used my family but changed. What I needed improve on is my editing because I look and read over my piece and don’t notice little error mistakes. Generally, it was a hard piece but, very rewarding piece. The reward I got was 100!!
